Today (7.30 a.m., 13 September 2001) related organizations in the Thai capital market including the Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commission Members, Dr.Somkid Jatusripitak together with SEC Secretary-General, SET Board of Governors and related associations considered that most regional exchanges which opened their securities trading yesterday did not receive much effect from the situation in the U.S.A. Moreover, investors now have sufficient information and are ready to invest regularly on the exchanges.
Therefore, the meeting concluded that securities trading on the SET can resume as usual. The SET has measures to protect against severe losses if securities investment is seriously effected.
