Stock Exchange of Thailand Observes 3 Minutes Of Silence As Mark Of Respect

Date 17/09/2001

Mr. Kittiratt Na-Ranong, President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), disclosed that in light of the tragic events in the United States of America (U.S.A) on September 11, 2001, the SET, in coordination with other member stock exchanges of the East Asian and Oceanian Stock Exchanges Federation (EAOSEF), will observe three minutes of silence to pay respect to the victims and all those affected.

The SET Board of Governors and the Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the resolution and trading on the Exchange will be halted for 3 minutes from 12:00 p.m. to 12:03 local time on Monday, September 17, 2001. The SET Board of Governors has asked member firms and other related parties to refrain from trading during this period in order to observe three minutes of mourning.

SET ensures that this silence will not impact any prior and post trading system.
