“Investors in the eastern region, especially in Chonburi province, have been paying considerable attention to investing in the stock market. Chonburi ranked number one in the region in terms of total trading value. And, around the end of last year, there was a significant increase in the number of new trading accounts. The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) consequently is taking, for a second time, a team of analysts and experts to meet Chonburi investors at its SET Roadshow. We received excellent responses from the investors, many of who came to our first roadshow to the province in 2003. Investor responses were particularly positive on the seminar session led by analysts and investment experts,” Ms. Sopawadee said.
In Chonburi province, there are a total of 18 branches of nine securities companies. These firms are Bualuang Securities, Adkinson Securities Pcl., DBS Vickers (Thailand), BT Securities, Asia Plus Securities Pcl., Kiatnakin Securities, Ayudhya Securities, Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) Pcl., and Seamico Securities Pcl.
On Saturday, August 7, 2004, the SET hosted a roadshow to provide information to investors as well as the general public in the east. The roadshow was held at the Pacific Hall Pacific Park, Robinson Department Store, Sriracha, Chonburi province, and was co-hosted by the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Chonburi Chamber of Commerce. As in 2003, all seminar sessions were well-attended by investors. The books, “What You Need to Know to Become Rich” and “Exploring the Financial World” were also very much in demand at the event.
