The Chairwoman of the Capital Market Opportunity Center (CMOC) and the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI), Ms. Sopawadee Lertmanaschai, announced that, effective 1 June 2004, five companies listed under the “Others” sector, namely C.P.L. Group Public Co., Ltd. (CPL), D.T.C. Industries Public Co., Ltd. (DTCI), Chai Wattana Tannery Group Public Co., Ltd. (CWT), Eastern Water Resources Development and Management Public Co., Ltd. (EASTW), and General Environmental Conservation Public Co., Ltd. (GENCO), will be reassigned to other sectors related to the companies’ businesses. The revision aims to be clear to investors, which will make the fund raising of these companies more effective.
“After considering the companies’ income structure and nature of businesses from their annual Form 56-1 reports, the SET finds that these companies can be moved into one of the eight sectors the SET introduced, and which took effect, earlier this year. Subsequently, the SET will move these companies to the appropriate sectors and cancel the “Others” sector,” said the CMOC & MAI Chairwoman.
In addition, the SET has changed the name of “Energy” sector, currently listed under the “Resources” industry group, to the “Energy & Utilities” sector in order to improve the coverage of the types of businesses undertaken by the companies which will register under this sector. The newly named sector, Energy & Utilities, will be effective on 1 June 2004.
