Stock Exchange Of Thailand Announces Solutions To Limitation On Share Volume Reporting Systems

Due to the limitation on the trading report regarding the "share volume" of the Price Reporting System (PRS), which is set at 2,148 million shares, the Stock Exchange of Thailand was unable to broadcast the number of shares traded, which exceeded the volume mentioned above, during the trading hours of January 25 - 26, 2001.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand herewith confirms to all concerned that the Price Reporting System has been adjusted to be in units of 1,000, which will enable it to support more trading volume. Additionally, the Stock Exchange of Thailand has already communicated this to its data receivers, namely, member brokerage firms and data vendors. The Price Reporting System will resume normal operation regarding the "share volume" reporting on Monday, 29 January 2001.

The trading value and the SET Index on January 25 - 26, 2001 were, however, accurate and did not affect the trading system.
