Stock Exchange Of Hong Kong Monthly Progress Report On the Year 2000 Compliance Project (As Of October 31, 1999)

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong is publishing a monthly progress report on its Year 2000 (Y2K) Compliance Project in order to update the public with the current status of its preparation. Details of the progress report are as follows:- The current position regarding the rectification of internal systems - IT Developed Systems - is that: Software modification work 100% completed. 60 systems have completed user acceptance signoff and been released for production. Integration testing involving the Automatic Order Matching and Execution System, Traded Options System, various external interfacing systems and information vendors was successfully completed in August 1998 as scheduled. Task completed. The current position regarding the rectification of internal systems - End User Developed Systems - is that: The external consultant has delivered all necessary software modifications. User acceptance tests completed and released for production for all divisions/departments. Task completed. The current position regarding the rectification of internal systems - Non-IT Facilities/Equipment - is that: Y2K enquiry letters were sent to various vendors/suppliers to confirm the Y2K status of all related facilities/equipment. Verification on office equipment and electrical and mechanical facilities for the computer room has been completed. Replies were received from various vendors/suppliers and they confirmed that all major equipments/facilities currently installed within the Exchange were Y2K compliant. Task complete.
