Stock Exchange of Hong Kong June Turnover Up Versus May Level

The average daily turnover on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong for the 21 trading days in June was HKD7,888 million, an increase of 7 per cent compared with the previous month. Total turnover value for the month was HKD165,640 million compared with HKD154,372 million in May. A total of 119,061 million shares changed hands in June, compared with 128,693 million shares in May. The average daily turnover by volume was 5,670 million shares, down 7 per cent from May. The total number of trades during the month was 2,104,610 which was 5 per cent more than in May. Average daily turnover for the first half of the year was HKD6,339 million, compared with HKD7,436 in the same period last year. Total turnover by value was HKD767,073 million during the first half of the year, compared with HKD907,160 million for the same period last year.
