Stock Exchange of Hong Kong GEM Expects First Listing in the Fourth Quarter

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong will now accept applications from potential issuers seeking listing on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM). It expects to have its first listing on GEM in the fourth quarter following the announcement of the GEM sponsor list today (Tuesday). Potential issuers wishing to list on GEM must be sponsored and the sponsor must meet the Exchange's eligibility criteria. After listing, the issuer must retain the sponsor for two years to act as adviser to assist the issuer in compliance with the GEM Listing Rules. Other sponsor applications are being considered by the GEM Listing Committee. The sponsor list will be revised from time to time.
