The decision reached today (12 April) at the Eurogroup meeting is a significant development for Cyprus. The political endorsement of the MoU, without any further amendments, constitutes a powerful signal for stabilization, while at the same time being an acknowledgment of the efforts of Cyprus and its people.
We are looking forward to a swift endorsement from member states and to the disbursement of the first tranche by mid-May.
We remain committed to continuing and intensifying our efforts for recovery and growth. In this respect we are satisfied with the European Commission's intention to provide technical and financial assistance, as President Anastasiades has requested.
