It has been announced that shareholders of Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd. (TSE: HTR) have approved the proposed combination with US-based Burlington Resources Inc. (NYSE: BR). As a result, Inex Pharmaceuticals Corporation (TSE: IEX) will replace Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd. in the TSE 300 Composite and TSE 300 Capped Indices, Cott Corporation (TSE: BCB) in the TSE 200 Index and Compton Petroleum Corporation (TSE: CMT) in the S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap Index. Inex Pharmaceuticals Corporation is a Canadian biopharmaceutical company that utilizes proprietary drug delivery systems and therapeutic compounds to increase the effectiveness and reduce the side-effects of anti-cancer therapies. The company will be added to the Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals Group (05.08)in the TSE 300 Composite and TSE 300 Capped Indices and to the Health Care Sector (TXHC) of the S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap Index.
Compton Petroleum Corporation will replace Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd. in the S&P/TSE Canadian MidCap Index in the Energy Sector (TXEN). Cott Corporation will replace Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd. in the TSE 100 Index in the Consumer Sector (2). Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd. will also be removed from the S&P/TSE Canadian Energy Sector Index.
