Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces that the following changes will take place in the S&P/TSE 60, S&P/TSE 60 Capped, TSE 300 Composite, TSE 300 Capped, S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap, S&P/TSE Canadian Information Technology Sector, TSE 100 and TSE 200 Indices after the close of trading on Tuesday, May 29, 2001.

Stantec Inc. (TSE: STN) will replace Petromet Resources Ltd. (TSE: PNT) in the TSE 300 Composite, TSE 300 Capped, S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap and TSE 200 Indices. It has been announced that over 90% of the outstanding common shares have been tendered to the offer by Talisman Energy Inc. The weight of Celestica Inc. (TSE: CLS) will increase by approximately 0.18% in the S&P/TSE 60, 0.19% in the S&P/TSE 60 Capped, 0.14% in the TSE 300 Composite, 0.13% in the TSE 300 Capped, 1.38% in the S&P/TSE Canadian Information Technology Sector and 0.15% in the TSE 100 Index. The relative weight change reflects an adjustment to the float shares of the company due to the completion of a recent prospectus offering.

Stantec Inc. provides consulting, project and program management services in planning, engineering, architecture, interior design, surveying and project economics. The company’s focus is mainly on the infrastructure and facilities sector, such as hospitals, roadways, bridges, schools and airports. Stantec Inc. will be added to the TSE 300 Composite and TSE 300 Capped Indices in the Industrial Products (06.02) Group and the S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap Index in the Industrial Sector.
