Standard & Poor’s will make the following change in the S&P Asia 50 Index effective after the close of trading on Thursday October 9th, 2008.
Kookmin Bank (SEDOL 6419365, GICS 40101010) via a restructure is setting up a holding company, KB Financial Group Inc. via a 1 for 1 share swap. Shares in Kookmin Bank will be halted from trading between September 25th and October 9th and then delisted. The new company, KB Financial will be listed on Friday October 10th, 2008 with a new ticker which has yet to be announced.
Standard & Poor’s will retain Kookmin Bank in the index as suspended between September 25th and October 9th at the closing price on Wednesday September 24th. Effective after the close of business on Thursday October 9th, 2008 Kookmin Bank will be changed to KB Financial.
