Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes To Data Files For The S&P Asia Property 40 & S&P Asia Thematic Indices

Date 11/11/2008

Standard & Poor’s will make changes in the S&P Asia Property 40, S&P Asia Water, S&P Asia Alternative Energy & S&P Asia Infrastructure Indices .ICW data files, effective after the close of trading on November 21, 2008.

With each of the indices annual rebalancing, Standard & Poor's is enhancing the calculation methodology for the indices to incorporate each constituent’s actual shares outstanding in the index calculation. Previously, the calculations used an artificial share count.

The changes will have no impact on the calculation results of the index and index weights, themselves. They will, however, impact some of the data elements found in the .ICW files, particularly the modified index shares and the modified market capitalization used in the calculations.

The S&P Asia Property 40, S&P Asia Thematic and the S&P Index Mathematics Methodologies have been updated to reflect these changes and can be found on Standard & Poor's Web site.

For more information on the changes and their impact on data files, please contact Index Services at index_services@standardandpoors.com.

Additions to and deletions from an S&P equity index do not in any way reflect an opinion on the investment merits of the companies concerned.
