Standard & Poor’s will make changes in the S&P Asia All Stars Index .ICW data files, effective after the close of trading on December 19, 2008.
With the December semi-annual rebalancing, Standard & Poor's is enhancing the calculation methodology for the index to incorporate each constituent’s actual shares outstanding in the index calculation. Previously, the calculations used an artificial share count.
The changes will have no impact on the calculation results of the index and index weights, themselves. They will, however, impact some of the data elements found in the .ICW files, particularly the modified index shares and the modified market capitalization used in the calculations.
The S&P Asia All Star and the S&P Index Mathematics Methodologies have been updated to reflect these changes and can be found on Standard & Poor's Web site.

Additions to and deletions from an S&P equity index do not in any way reflect an opinion on the investment merits of the companies concerned.
