Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes In S&P Japan MidCap 100 And S&P Japan 500 Indices

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P Japan MidCap 100 and the S&P Japan 500 Indices effective after the close of trading Tuesday, August 31st, 2004:
  • C&S Co Ltd (Japan, SEDOL: 6200729, GICS: Consumer Staples, GICS Code: 30101030) a member of the S&P Japan MidCap 100 and S&P Japan 500 indices, will be replaced by Circle K Sunkus Co Ltd (Japan, SEDOL: B02FK91, GICS: Consumer Staples, GICS Code: 30101030) after the market close of Tuesday, August 31st, 2004. C&S Co Ltd shares will be delisted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange following its merger with Sanks & Associates to create Circle K Sunkus Co Ltd. The shares used for the index calculation for the new company will be 86,183,226 and its IWF will be 0.5.
For index calculation purpose, the price of C&S Co Ltd will be frozen as of the close of August 25th, the last trading day, to August 31st in the S&P Japan MidCap 100 and S&P Japan 500 Indices.
