Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes In S&P Canadian Indices

Standard & Poor's wishes to announce that the following changes will be made to the S&P/TSX 60, S&P/TSX 60 Capped and S&P/TSX MidCap Indices:

Royal Group Technologies Limited (TSX: RYG) will be removed from the S&P/TSX 60 and 60 Capped Indices and added to the S&P/TSX MidCap Index. Research in Motion Ltd. (TSX: RIM) will be removed from the S&P/TSX MidCap Index and added to the S&P/TSX 60 and 60 Capped Indices.

These changes will be effective after the close of business on Friday, July 16, 2004.

Company additions to and deletions from an S&P equity index do not in any way reflect an opinion on the investment merits of the company.
