Standard & Poor’s Announces Change In The S&P Global 100 Index

Standard & Poor’s will make the following change in the S&P Global 100 Index:
  • Sanofi-Aventis (France) will replace Aventis S.A. (France, Sedol = 4736817) in the S&P Global 100 Index after the close of trading August 19 2004. Aventis is being acquired by Sanofi-Synthelabo in a stock and cash transaction to form Sanofi-Aventis.
Based in Paris France, Sanofi-Aventis is a global pharmaceuticals company. The Group's principal activities are the research, development, distribution and services of pharmaceuticals and health vaccine products, with operations worldwide. The shares outstanding for the company will be 1,374,450,457, with an investable weight factor of 0.7000.
