Hello, I am Camille Graciani, and I joined the FSB Secretariat in mid-2022 to work on assessing vulnerabilities across sectors and jurisdictions.
At that time, and following the March 2020 market turmoil, a significant part of the FSB’s work was focused on nonbank financial intermediation (NBFI). Together with Secretariat colleagues and FSB member authorities, we assessed vulnerabilities related to NBFI leverage, which ultimately led to policy recommendations a couple of years later. In 2023, stress emerged in parts of the banking sector. We analysed interest rate and liquidity risks in the financial system and conducted a global bank stress test together with the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.
As you can see, working at the Secretariat offers a unique experience of intellectual diversity. The FSB’s work spans many different topics, and the people who contribute to this work are highly motivated to make a difference, creating endless opportunities for learning.
Since 2025, I have spent most of my time on the FSB's Nonbank Data Task Force, an initiative aimed at closing data gaps, notably those related to NBFI leverage in core markets. This is an area of growing importance for financial stability, presenting complex cross-border challenges, which underscores the need for international cooperation – the FSB’s raison d’être and something I am proud to have contributed to.
In August, I will leave the FSB Secretariat to join an FSB member organisation, the International Association of Insurance Supervisors. Insurance is where I began my career in the public sector, first at the French Supervisory Authority (ACPR) and later at the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority. I hope to apply the knowledge I have gained here and continue contributing to a stable and well-functioning financial system.
