On Monday, Deutsche Börse announced changes to its selection indices, which will become effective on 19 September 2016. The shares of S+T AG will be included in the TecDAX index and will replace the shares of SÜSS MicroTec AG, which will leave the index. The exclusion of SÜSS MicroTec AG is based on the fast exit rule; the shares no longer fulfill the market capitalization requirements to remain in the TecDAX index.
The following changes will apply for the SDAX index: the shares of Leifheit AG will be included in the index and will replace the shares of Comdirect Bank AG. The exclusion of Comdirect Bank AG is based on the regular exit rule; the shares no longer fulfill the turnover requirements to remain in the SDAX index.
The constituents of the DAX and MDAX indices remain unchanged.
As announced before, this index review has been conducted according to the new guidelines for the equity indices of Deutsche Börse. The index composition, not only for the DAX index but also for the selection indices MDAX, SDAX and TecDAX, is reviewed on a purely quantitative as well as completely automated basis. This leads to a further improvement in the transparency of the index rules and visibility of changes and enables an objective and fact-based process for determining the composition of the equity indices.
The next scheduled index review is 5 December 2016.
