This change for the Next 150 index will be effective as of Thursday 14 March 2002.
Sportfive will not be replaced in the Next 150 index as the composition of the index is expected to change substantially when several Portuguese companies are included in the index as of 2 April 2002 following the Next 150 index review. Any replacement now would therefore be likely to stay in the Next 150 index for only a few days. This decision is made at the compiler's discretion in accordance with rule 6.4 of the Next 150 index groundrules. The Next 150 index will therefore consist of 149 stocks until Tuesday 2 April 2002.
The Euronext 100 and Next 150 index have been published since 2 October , 2000. They are constituted of the 250 securities with the highest market capitalisations, traded on the official markets of Euronext. In order to be included in the indices the securities must meet liquidity criteria that are specified in the rules of the indices. Euronext Indices is the compiler of the indices under the supervision of the independent Euronext Indices Steering Committee.
