1. Thank you, Minister Gan. A very good morning to all and welcome to SGX for the securities market opening ceremony. It is my honour and pleasure to have with us today, our partners at MTI, EDBI, MAS, Temasek and 65 Equity Partners.
2. I am excited that we are all here to witness such a momentous occasion, as Minister Gan said, to blow new wind into the sails of our public equity market, and make SGX not just a viable but a compelling option for innovative growth companies seeking a public listing.
3. It is indeed fitting too that we are gathered at the SGX IPO Arena, which is an iconic place built to celebrate new company listings, milestones as well as the great partnerships and friendships we have made. The striking of the gong at market open typically sets off a company’s growth journey in the public markets.
4. A public listing can be one of the most rewarding accomplishments for a company. But it is also just the beginning of a new road ahead. And it helps to have strategic partners and a supportive ecosystem to navigate together and grow meaningfully with the opportunities created by its listing.
5. Today’s gathering is proof that we are standing in one of the most supportive ecosystems the world has to offer, where there is strong and deep collaboration between the public and private sectors.
6. The coming together of all our efforts will be pivotal to strengthening Singapore as an enterprise financing hub and will forge a new chapter for promising, fast-growing businesses as they access capital, transform and grow.
7. At SGX, we work with companies to tap global capital and network at every stage of their growth.
8. We help companies go to market in various ways, such as through our newly launched SPAC listings, that has attracted great interest from sponsors and companies.
9. That is again made possible by the strong ecosystem that we have in Singapore. We are truly grateful for the support and I hope this will pave the way for more collaborative opportunities with everyone in future.
