Today is a good day for the launching of “The Venture Capital Day of Shenzhen” and the unveiling ceremony of SZSE Technology and IP Exchange (hereinafter as “Technology and IP Exchange”). On behalf of SZSE, I would like to extend warm congratulations on the successful convening of the event, sincere welcome to leaders and guests to the unveiling ceremony of the Technology and IP Exchange, and heartfelt thanks to the relevant ministries and commissions, CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and friends from all walks of life for their strong support for the reform and development of SZSE!
It is pointed out in the report in the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that we must regard science and technology as our primary productive force, and innovation as our primary driver of growth. It is also highlighted that we will improve systems for scientific and technological innovation and boost the overall performance of China’s innovation system. As a center of finance and innovation, Shenzhen's concerted efforts in establishing the Venture Capital Day, the scientific and technological innovation capital matchmaking platform, is a concrete move to implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. This reflects the effective combination of decisive role of market in resource allocation and better role of government, and bears great significance to Shenzhen to further strengthen the role of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area as a core engine.
As an important force in driving innovation and important part of the capital market, venture capital is closely associated with exchanges. Venture capital is intended to solve fund source issues for scientific and technological innovation startups and support the industrial transformation of science and technology. Exchanges aim to support the sustainable development of innovative enterprises, provide venture capital with important channels for exit and boost a virtuous cycle of innovation and capital. They both work hard to create a good market ecosystem beneficial to innovation.
On a mission to gather innovation capital and stimulate growth momentum, SZSE is making every effort to develop the world-class exchange featuring superior innovation capital center and committed to promote the deep integration of science & technology, capital and real economy. Setting up the Technology and IP Exchange is an important measure of SZSE to carry out the decisions and plans of the Central Committee and support Shenzhen to construct the pilot demonstration zone. It is also an important step for SZSE to perfect the innovation capital formation system. Under the guidance of CSRC and support of National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, China National Intellectual Property Administration and the CPC Committee and People’s Government of Shenzhen, the Technology and IP Exchange is officially founded today after smooth preparation. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all parties.
SZSE will conscientiously implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, carry out the new development concept in a complete, accurate and comprehensive way, make solid progress, spare no effort to develop the Technology and IP Exchange and better serve high-level sci-tech in self-reliance and self-strengthening. First, establishing a transformation platform for scientific and technological achievements. Sticking to the positioning of the Technology and IP Exchange on linking technological and capital markets, SZSE will engage in two major categories of business regarding technological trading and technology-capital integration, remove all impediments to smooth the display, assessment, trading and investment/financing connection of scientific and technological achievements, thus providing one-stop services for the the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Second, establishing a platform for creating synergy. The establishment of the Technology and IP Exchange is based on exploration and innovation, which is in need of constant optimization in terms of system, mechanism and development model. SZSE will deepen ties and cooperation with relevant ministries and commissions, local governments, colleges and universities, research institutes and venture capital institutions, advance the enterprise-led deep integration of enterprise-university-research, and provide high-quality services for technological trading entities across regions, industries and factors together with related parties. Third, establishing a platform for serving innovation centers. Based in Shenzhen, the Technology and IP Exchange is founded to serve it. Centering on innovative development needs of Shenzhen, SZSE will proactively channel various resources and factors to innovation, make services better targeted and more effectively, and support Shenzhen’s development featuring venture capital and innovation and assist Shenzhen in building a model city in a modern socialist country.
