Spanish Exchange Trades 58 New Warrants Issued By Bankinter

  • The number of warrants admitted to trading so far this year is 1,655, a new record since the creation of the market.
The Spanish Exchange today began trading 58 new warrants issued by Bankinter. The incorporation of these issues brings the total number of warrants admitted to trading so far this year to 1,655, thus setting a new record since the creation of the market.

The underlying assets for the warrants issued are Spanish shares and indices. As to the warrants on Spanish indices, 10 were issued on the Ibex 35, of which 5 are call warrants and 5 put.

As to the warrants on Spanish shares, 48 were issued on the following underlying assets: BBVA, Repsol, Santander and Telefónica.

Among the issues are call and put warrants, with expiry dates in March, June and September 2006. All issues are European style, that is, they are exercisable on the expiry date and can be exercised automatically by the issuer.

The warrant trading volume to November was € 2,016 million, setting a 20% increase on the year and a new trading record.
