Spanish Exchange Trades 123 New Warrants Issued By BBVA Banco De Financiación

  • With the incorporation of these issues, the number of warrants admitted to trading on the market this year is 861 and the number of listed warrants amounts to 1,634.
The Spanish Exchange today began trading 123 new warrants issued by BBVA Banco de Financiación. The underlying assets for the warrants are domestic and foreign shares and indices as well as exchange rates.

The warrants trading volume in May was € 161 million, 24.93% up on the same month last year. Of this volume, the heaviest trading took place in call warrants premiums, which accounted for 82.40% of the total volume.

As to the underlying assets for the warrants issued today on exchange rates, 15 correspond to the euro/dollar exchange rate and 5 to the dollar / Mexican peso. The Spanish shares that will act as the underlying assets for 62 warrant are as follows: Abertis, Altadis, BBVA, Endesa, Gas Natural, Iberdrola, Indra, Banco Popular, Repsol, SCH, Sogecable, Telefónica, Telefónica Moviles and Zeltia. As to the warrants issued on foreign shares, 30 were issued on the following underlying assets: Alcatel, Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Bank, Ericsson, France Telecom, Nokia and Total Fina. It is worth noting the incorporation of Total Fina as a new underlying asset.

As to the warrants issued on indices, 6 have been issued on the Ibex-35 and 5 on the Dow Jones Eurostoxx 50.

Among the issues are call and put warrants, all of which work in the same way as American warrants, that is, they are exercised automatically by the issuer on their expiry date.
