Solactive AG has launched the Solactive USD High Yield Corporates Total Market Index, a market value weighted benchmark engineered to mirror the performance of High Yield corporate bonds issued in USD. The index has been licensed to Deutsche Bank and will be used as the basis for the Deutsche X-trackers USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF that starts trading on the NYSE Arca exchange today.
The Solactive USD high-yield bond benchmark responds to the needs of investors seeking direct exposure to the USD-denominated high-yield bond market through passive investment products, such as ETFs or structured products. In addition, the Solactive USD High-Yield Corporates Total Market Index provides a benchmark against which to evaluate investment strategies and offers analytics of market performance across countries, regions, or sectors. The index can also serve as the starting universe for smart beta strategies.

The Solactive USD High Yield Corporates Total Market Index is calculated as a Gross Total Return (GTR) index and is composed of corporate debt denominated in USD from developed markets. All index components must have a composite rating that is sub investment grade and the amount outstanding must be at least USD 400 million. The index is based on 1000 at the close of trading on the 31st of August 2016, but history is available since December 2011. The index is readjusted monthly.
