Today, Thursday, 21 April 2011, is witnessing the 6th Slovene Capital Markets Day in Ljubljana, held in Hotel Mons. The event is being co-organized by the Ljubljana Stock Exchange and the Slovene Central Securities Clearing Corporation with partners – member firms. Its aim is to promote Slovenia's leading listed companies and thus attract Slovene investors.
The participating Slovene companies will hold presentations of their operations, while the event will also host one-on-one meetings between issuers and investors.
The investor conference will present the following top 9 Slovene issuers: logistics company Intereuropa, pharmacist Krka, port operator Luka Koper, retailer Mercator, bank Nova Kreditna banka Maribor, fuel distributor Petrol, reinsurer Pozavarovalnica Sava, telecom operator Telekom Slovenije and insurer Za-varovalnica Triglav.
Investor conferences held for international and domestic portfolio investors are among the strategic activities of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, the aim of which has been to enhance the visibility and liquidity of listed shares and thus reduce trading costs for investors on the Slovene stock exchange.
The event has revealed there to be wide interest in our top issuers and their plans for the future, since over 200 retail and institutional investors have registered for company presentations and as many as 80 one-on-one meetings with issuers have been booked.
Andrej Šketa, President of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange Management Board, commented: “Ambitious plans of Slovene listed companies and the interest of international investors, who already in 2010 presented a 43% share in trading with Prime Market shares, indicate positive movements in economy and on the capital market. Moreover, large attendance at the Slovene Capital Markets Day shows that the interest and confidence of inves-tors in the capital market is improving as well.”
