Due to market data issues, the SIX Swiss Exchange suspended trading in stocks, bonds, and exchange-traded funds for the second time on Wednesday. The initial halt occurred around 10:00 CET, as the exchange reported difficulty disseminating data. Although it later announced that the issue had been resolved and trading had resumed, further complications arose, prompting another suspension across all products.
Meanwhile, despite facing similar data problems, the Spanish stock exchange - BME - operated by SIX continued trading as usual, according to a spokesperson. The spokesperson for SIX clarified that trading in Switzerland had not been initially affected; however, it was necessary to halt trading in Switzerland to ensure fair treatment for all market participants.
