More choice for investors

Danielle Mair, Senior Sales Manager ETFs & ETPs at SIX Swiss Exchange, comments: "We're happy to welcome the newly admitted funds by Julius Baer. They further increase the attractiveness of our Sponsored Funds segment where investors can trade fund units like shares at any time and implement investment decisions immediately."

So far in 2016, the Sponsored Funds trading segment registered strong turnover growth. At the end of November, turnover amounted to CHF 1'100 million with 75% of all trades happening in the order book. The growing interest of investors in these products is also shown by the fact that in the current year, 55 trading participants have been actively trading these products.

In total, the Sponsored Funds segment now comprises 426 investment funds of over 60 different issuers. Our website provides you with an overview of all new admissions.

A broad spectrum of funds

In September already, Bank Julius Baer admitted 40 new funds to trading on SIX Swiss Exchange, including the first fund on the new SPI Multi Premia Index®. SIX Swiss Exchange introduced today this new index family for factor-based investments also in September. Previously, Julius Baer had added 30 products to the Sponsored Funds segment.

Invested in finding solutions

Sponsored Funds offer investors numerous benefits. They can trade fund units like shares at any time and implement investment decisions immediately. Furtheremore, as with all other products, orders can be placed with price limits (and corresponding validity). Contrary to primary trading, they can execute orders at known prices while enjoing the protection of the regulated trading environment at SIX Swiss Exchange. Meanwhile, the proven advantages of traditional investment funds such as diversity and safety remain.

Further information about the benefits of Sponsored Funds may be found on the SIX Swiss Exchange website and inthe SIX Swiss Exchange factsheet[PDF].
