SIX Swiss Exchange July 2014: Strong Month For Equities

In July 2014, SIX Swiss Exchange recorded a significant increase of trading activity: compared to the previous month,13.4% more transactions have been executed in the segment Equities (incl. Funds + ETPs). The total number of transactions rose to 3'169'682. Across all segments, the increase in July amounted to 13.1% and reached a total of 3'350'134 transactions. Since the beginning of 2014, the number of transactions reached 22'238'054, 7.5% more than in 2013.

Turnover across all trading segments amounted to CHF 89'920 million in July, an increase of 0.9% compared to June. With a growth of 4.1%, the Equities segment again showed the strongest performance. Compared to the previous year, trading turnover per end of July has risen by even 7.7%, reaching a total of CHF 665'007 million.
