During the 249 trading days of 2013 on SIX Swiss Exchange and SIX Structured Products Exchange Ltd (formerly Scoach Switzerland) the total number of trades reached 34'491'642, 9.3% more than in 2012. The biggest increase compared to the previous year was recorded in the ETF segment (+16.5%), followed by the segment for Equities incl. Funds and ETPs (+9.8%).
Equity trading turnover almost 20% higher
Overall, the trading turnover in 2013 reached CHF 1'004'402 million. This corresponds to an increase of 12.5% compared to 2012. In the most important segment for Equities (incl. Funds and ETPs), turnover even rose by 19.9% to CHF 716'563 million.

Attractive new stock exchange services added in 2013
As part of its "Over-the-Exchange" initiative, SIX Swiss Exchange enhanced the co-location offering and reduced complexity for trading participants by introducing industry standard interfaces in all trading segments. As of November 2013, the X-stream INET technology is available in all segments. Already in August, SIX Swiss Exchange provided the global trading community with the additional connectivity option Sponsored Access to benefit from the world's fastest and most advanced trading technology.
Launch of new trading segment for Sponsored Funds
In March 2013, SIX Swiss Exchange successfully launched a new segment for Sponsored Funds together with Bank Julius Baer, where traditional investment funds can be traded like shares. In November, ZKB joined as a second provider, increasing the number of available products to currently 305 Sponsored Funds. Furthermore, SIX Swiss Exchangewelcomed additional providers of ETFs and COSI products, as well as Cembra Money Bank Ltd as a newly listed company in 2013.
