Singapore Fixed Income Indices (SFI) Weekly

Performance review for the week ending 25 April 2014:

  • This week, the SFI gained 0.19% to 116.85. The equity market, as measured by the STI, gained 0.42%.
  • YTD, the STI currently outperforms the SFI by 1.59% (3.16% vs. 1.57%).
  • The SFI Corporate Bond Index is now at an all-time high of 121.23. YTD, the index has made weekly gains in 13 out of 17 weeks, at an average of 0.11% each week.
  • In-line with the broader SFI Corporate Bond Index, the SFI Financial and SFI Industrial Bond Indices remained at all-time highs, closing at 126.56 and 125.91 respectively. The average durations of both indices are 5.6 and 4.1 years respectively, with the broader SFI Corporate Bond Index currently at 4.8 years.
  • Shorter dated bonds are now at a record high, with the SFI 1-5 Year Bond Index closing at 111.98. The index is up 0.76% YTD, compared to 0.46% for the same time period in 2013.
  • Last week, the Singapore Dollar depreciated 0.40% against the US Dollar.
