Singapore Exchange Nikkei 225 Stock Index Futures Contract Breaks Record

Singapore Exchange Ltd (SGX) today announced that its Nikkei 225 Stock Index Futures Contract traded a daily record volume of 144,289 contracts on 11 June 2003, surpassing its previous record of 128,910 contracts set on 12 March 2003.

The SGX Nikkei 225 Index Futures contract has witnessed strong growth this year. From Jan to May 2003, trading volumes soared 37.41% to 2,481,026 contracts as compared to 1,805,530 contracts traded in the corresponding period last year.
