Singapore Exchange Appoints Seck Wai Kwong As CFO

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today announced the appointment of Mr Seck Wai Kwong as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from 2 June 2003. Mr Seck will also serve as a member of SGX's Executive Committee (Exco).

Mr Seck has 22 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining SGX, he was the Managing Director & Head, Investment Products and Bancassurance Group, Development Bank of Singapore Ltd (DBS Bank) where he directed the wealth management business of the bank. Other positions Mr Seck has held in DBS Bank since 1999 included Managing Director & Head of its Private Client Group and co-Head of its Investment Banking Group.

Mr Seck has held positions in the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC). He was also an adviser to the Investment Company of the People's Republic of China (ICPRC) in 1995, and Managing Director of Lehman Brothers Inc from 1995 to 1999.

Mr Seck was a member of the Singapore Committee on Competitiveness in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Financial Sector Review Group and the Committee on Merger of the Stock and Futures Exchanges in the MAS. He currently serves on the Boards of the Land Transport Authority and the Energy Markets Authority.

He holds a Masters of Business Administration (with Distinction) from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA, and a Bachelor of Economics (1st class Honours) from Monash University, Australia.
