Singapore Exchange Appoints Hsieh Fu Hua As New CEO

Singapore Exchange (SGX) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Hsieh Fu Hua as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Currently Managing Partner of PrimePartners Asset Management, Mr Hsieh will start his appointment on 1 March 2003.

Mr Hsieh has spent 29 years in financial services. He started his career in 1974 with Morgan Grenfell Asia, where he rose to the post of Managing Director, from 1985 until 1993. Mr Hsieh established PrimeEast Capital, a regional financial services group, and from 1997 he was Group Managing Director of BNP PrimeEast. In 1998 he became Group Managing Director of BNP Equities Asia, based in Hong Kong before returning to PrimePartners.

Mr J Y Pillay, Chairman of SGX, said, "We are pleased to welcome Mr Hsieh, who brings to SGX a solid track record in building teams and businesses in Asia and a reputation for delivering results. Mr Hsieh will lead SGX in the next phase of its development".

Mr Hsieh said, "I am truly honoured to be given the opportunity to lead SGX and continue to position SGX as a global exchange. I look forward to applying my experience to the building of a most important institution in our financial markets. SGX has a great team chaired by Mr Pillay and I will lead and grow it further".

Mr Hsieh has an Honours degree in Business Administration from the University of Singapore.
