Singapore Exchange Announces Designated Market Makers For First Local ETF

Singapore Exchange Ltd (SGX) today announced that two Securities Members have been approved as Designated Market Makers ("DMMs") for Singapore's first local Exchange Traded Fund (ETF), the streetTRACKS^SM Straits Times Index Fund ("streetTRACKS STI").

The two DMMs are G. K. Goh Stockbrokers Pte Ltd and Kim Eng Ong Asia Securities Pte Ltd. They will provide bid-ask quotes for the streetTRACKS STI when it is listed and traded on SGX from 17 April 2002.

State Street Global Advisors Singapore Ltd ("SSgA"), the manager of the streetTRACKS STI, has also informed SGX that there are 9 Participating Dealers ("PDs") to the Fund. PDs are brokers or dealers which have the right to participate in the direct creation and redemption of units in the Fund. The 9 PDs are Credit Suisse First Boston (Hong Kong) Ltd, Deutsche Securities Asia Ltd (Hong Kong), G. K. Goh Stockbrokers Pte Ltd, J.M. Sassoon & Co (Pte) Ltd, Kim Eng Ong Asia Securities Pte Ltd, OCBC Securities Pte Ltd, Phillip Securities Pte Ltd, Salomon Smith Barney Singapore Securities Pte Ltd and UOB Kay Hian Pte Ltd.
