SIFMA today issued the following statement from Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr. after the Federal Reserve released new proposals to address regulation and supervision of large bank holding companies and systemically important nonbank financial firms.
"Today's proposals by the Federal Reserve will have a broad impact on the financial services industry. While these rules will require considerable review and comment from the industry, we are pleased to see the Fed is taking a phased-in approach to a number of these measures. We look forward to continuing to work with the Federal Reserve to ensure the safety and soundness of our financial system while not significantly curtailing the system's ability to contribute to economic growth and job creation."
