The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) today announced its new management team, which will report directly to the co-CEOs, Marc Lackritz and Micah Green. The seven departments reflect an organization that is flatter and broader than either legacy trade association before the merger of the Bond Market Association and the Securities Industry Association.
“With this plan, we
expect to integrate a deep connection to our members’ businesses and markets
with widely competent and effective advocacy in the legislative, regulatory,
legal and political arenas,” said Micah Green, co-CEO of SIFMA.
“This new organization capitalizes on our experience and talent,” said Marc Lackritz, co-CEO of SIFMA. “With this team, we will create new opportunities for investors, issuers and our industry.”
Below is the new SIFMA management team.
Senior Managing
Director, Executive Vice President -- Randy Snook will oversee the elements of the member
organization dealing with the business of the members and the association. This includes the three business groups
(Capital Markets, Private Client and Asset Management), Technology/Operations,
Conference Services, User pay activities (including Educational programs) and
membership and member services, including outreach to small and regional
firms.
Senior Managing
Director, General Counsel
-- Ira Hammerman will oversee
the legal and regulatory representation and advocacy for SIFMA. The Office of the General Counsel will staff
the various legal, regulatory and compliance and many of the other functional
enterprise committees of SIFMA. The
General Counsel will jointly oversee the legal, regulatory and compliance work
of the three business groups to ensure coordination of policy, consistency of
quality of SIFMA legal and regulatory work product and advocacy support. The General Counsel will also be responsible
for the specific legal affairs of SIFMA.
Senior Managing
Director(s), Government Relations -- Richard Hunt will
partner with a new hire, intended
to specifically supplement financial services and market regulation expertise
and provide political balance at a senior level. Together they will oversee all legislative policy advocacy
at federal and state levels. They will
serve as the primary staff for the Legislative Steering and Government
Relations committees and be responsible for the PAC.
The SIA’s legacy
International Committee effort will continue to be a priority of the new
organization. Because of SIFMA’s presence in Europe and Asia, staff support
will be more broadly defined as Global Policy Coordination to ensure
coordination and connectivity on legislative and regulatory policy
globally. Initially, this function will
be part of the Office of the CEO to ensure maximum coordination and
effectiveness between the three regions (US, Europe and Asia).
