On 20 June, 2017, Shenzhen Stock Exchange (‘SZSE’), together with China Securities Regulatory Commission of Anhui (‘Anhui CSRC’), China Securities Investor Services Center (‘ISC’), Anhui Association of Listed Companies, and the Securities and Futures Association of Anhui, held the launching ceremony of Anhui Investor Service Week and Walking into Listed Companies in Hefei, Anhui, which attracted nearly 400 investors.
The Investor Service Week is the first regional activity of the kind jointly held by SZSE and CSRC agency, and a major step to implement the Memorandum of Cooperation between SZSE and Anhui CSRC. As expressed by a related official from SZSE on the launching ceremony, the activity is held via the organic cooperation of the Exchange and Anhui CSRC with the joint forces of different market participants, on the principal of sharing resources, complementing functions and mutual support. Such activities as Walking into Listed Companies and the Sales Department of Securities Companies and the training program shall enable investors in Anhui to defend their rights and help foster rational investing, and bring more principal market players to join the work of investor education and protection, starting a new chapter for the kind of work in Anhui.
A related official from Anhui CSRC noted that the Service Week shall help raise the awareness of medium and small investors in Anhui as shareholders of listed companies, promote the culture of rational investing in the market, and help investors foster the concept of rational and value investing. Anhui CSRC shall continue to supervise and push relevant organizations on the work of investor education and protection, take the words of small and medium investors seriously, provide convenience for small and medium investors to exercise their rights and participate in decision making, provide diversified solutions to securities and futures disputes and defend the legitimated rights of investors.
On the ceremony, an official from ISC introduced relevant responsibilities of ISC and investor services from 4 aspects including shareholding and power exercising, dispute resolution, Securities-support litigations, and investor education. Anhui Association of Listed Companies, and the Securities and Futures Association of Anhui both expressed that they shall continue their efforts in self-discipline of members, facilitate interaction and communication between members and investors, and improve their services to investors.
Following the opening ceremony, several rounds of activities of Walking into Listed Companies and Sales Department of Securities Companies shall be carried out in Hefei, Anhui and Wuhu covering topics of investor appropriateness, investor rights (rights awareness, exercising and defending), investor behavior analysis and recent developments of Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect.
Next, SZSE shall strengthen collaboration with local CSRC agencies, continue to improve the cooperation mechanism and jointly deepen and broaden investor education. SZSE, by drawing upon the experience already gained, shall raise the awareness of primary market players as services providers, foster rational and mature investor, and continue to promote the work on investor protection.
