Shenzhen Stock Exchange Highlights "Two Focuses" During The "Financial Education Promotion Month"

Date 11/10/2024

Recently, according to the requirements of financial regulatory authorities, Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) has launched a series of activities for the 2024 "Financial Education Promotion Month" using a variety of formats and channels. The efforts aim to boost awareness of basic investment knowledge through investment service products, with a focus on promoting the "1+N" policy system and its progress in the capital market, so as to lay a strong foundation for further deepening capital market reforms.

During the campaign, SZSE has earnestly studied and implemented the major strategic plans of the CPC Central Committee for further deepening reforms. Through multiple channels, we have released 11 investor education products related to the "1+N" policy system, organized online investor education lectures, and invited industry experts and analysts to provide professional interpretations. The aim is to help investors understand the policies, strengthen the emphasis on protecting investors throughout the entire chain, and boost investor confidence, so as to build consensus for the high-quality development of the capital market.

On one hand, we focus on areas and regions where investor education services are in high demand to make our services more accessible. Firstly, in collaboration with our members, we have carried out 48 local activities, including community visits, business district activities, campus events, brokerage office visits, and investor meetings across Guangdong, Guangxi, Henan, Xinjiang, and Jiangsu, offering face-to-face services to investors. Secondly, we have strengthened investor education services for new investors and students. We have released the fourth season of the "Investment Insights" interview program and launched the "Step-by-Step Guide to Understanding Asset Evaluation Reports" articles. Through these measures, we have provided targeted education on preventing fraud and scams, addressed investor concerns, and brought practical benefits directly to investors. Thirdly, we have planned and implemented a series of promotional events for the 10th anniversary of the "CNI 1000+CNI 2000" index system. These include launching financial education lectures for bank customers, promoting policies that encourage long-term investments, introducing our ETF market and key products, and educating the public on the basics of the securities market. Fourthly, themed posters for "Financial Education Promotion Month" were prominently displayed at 6 key interchange stations of the Shenzhen Metro, reaching tens of millions of commuters. It helps to strengthen the concepts of value investment, rational investment, and long-term investment, thereby enhancing market confidence and contributing to shape a financial culture with Chinese characteristics.

On the other hand, we focus on serving new quality productive forces and organize special activities centered around three key areas — advanced manufacturing, digital economy, and green and low-carbon development. Firstly, we have continued the Shenzhen 50 and ChiNext 50 constituents' open house program series for investors, featuring "virtual tour" videos via the Easy IR public account, Cailian Press, Sina, Securities Times, etc., with over 16 million cumulative views. Secondly, together with the Beijing Securities Regulatory Bureau, Securities Association of Beijing, etc., we have launched a series of activities under the theme of "Sketching a Financial Powerhouse, Empowering Investor Services". This includes seven service activities focused on digital finance, such as lectures and investor education salons, to help investors understand the capital market's role in supporting new quality productive forces. Through these efforts, we seek to advance the "five major tasks" in finance. Thirdly, six roadshow events were organized for key industries like new energy, communications, and power, attracting 276 in-person participants and over 100,000 online viewers. These events guided companies to explain their business performance and discuss trends in new quality productive forces, facilitating direct communication between listed companies and investors.

During this "Financial Education Promotion Month", SZSE also held a review meeting for the 4th National Investor Education Animation Contest, with a thematic discussion on "Exploring the Cultural Power in Investor Education". The contest used easy-to-understand animations to promote the integration of cultural creativity and investor education services, continuing to foster a financial culture with Chinese characteristics.

Moving forward, SZSE will continue to implement the directives from the 3rd Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Central Financial Work Conference. Under the leadership of the CSRC, we will fully promote the effective implementation of the "1+N" policy system in the capital market. Additionally, we will further improve the quality and efficiency of investor services, enhance investors' sense of fulfillment and satisfaction, contributing to the high-quality development of the capital market with high-quality investor services.
