On February 17, SZSE held the ESG Information Disclosure Themed Event, the first event of “Hub of Innovation Exchanges”. The event was designed to help listed companies solve issues occurred during the disclosure of ESG information.
SZSE has held several themed symposiums on industry development recently, and some enterprises reflected that they had difficulties with industry communications during the disclosure of ESG information. Accordingly, they suggested that SZSE establish a platform to facilitate further communication between the listed companies and market entities, such as domestic and overseas investors and rating agencies, thereby promoting industry exchanges and study and helping enterprises get familiar with the cutting-edge sectors and strengthen their capabilities.
SZSE rapidly responded to the enterprises’ demand by actively establishing the platform. To give full play to the role as a market hub and platform, SZSE decided to create a new service brand “Hub of Innovation Exchanges”, which focuses on the difficulties and most concerned issues of the listed companies and entity enterprises and serve as a platform for themed exchanges. By doing so, the mutual aid between the industry and market entities can be fully demonstrated. The ESG Information Disclosure Themed Event is the first event since the establishment of the “Hub of Innovation Exchanges”, to which, representative listed companies, investment institutions, and experts and scholars were invited to conduct thorough communications.
The attendees believed that as the listed companies’ knowledge on ESG grows deeper, the returns on the ESG investment have been gradually recognized. Therefore, the endogenous motivation for disclosing ESG information becomes increasingly strong. Accordingly, the focus of the listed companies’ concern has shifted from “why should we practice ESG” to “how should we practice ESG”. With regard to the issue of how to disclose ESG information with high quality, attendees shared their practical experience and discussed the difficulties and common problems they faced. The event was unanimously recognized by the participants, especially the listed companies attending the event, which acknowledged that the event was fruitful. Moreover, they stated that they had been inspired by the experience shared by the attendees in disclosing ESG information and achieved a sense of gain from the event.

SZSE will follow the leadership of the CSRC as usual and study and establish a rule system for ESG information disclosure with Chinese characteristics and improve the supporting incentive and constraint mechanism according to China’s status and international experience. To give full play to our role as a platform, SZSE will consistently improve work ethics, strive to enhance service capabilities, and strengthen training and communication. SZSE will guide enterprises to better practice the ESG concept so as to facilitate the adjustment and optimization of the industrial structure, boost the ecological construction of ESG development, and contribute our due part to the low-carbon, sustainable socioeconomic development.
The ESG Information Disclosure Themed Event also marked the official launch of a series of events of “Hub of Innovation Exchanges”. Next, activities will be continuously launched in key areas, industries and regions through the “Hub of Innovation Exchanges” to promote interaction, communication and cooperation among enterprises. We will strive to build an open and dynamic capital market service platform to contribute to the high-quality development of the real economy.
