On April 12, SZSE’s wholly-owned subsidiary Shenzhen Securities Information Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “SSIC”) issued an announcement, saying that in order to better serve the development of the capital market and meet the diversified investment needs of the market, after seeking the opinions of market participants, it has decided to revise the compilation plan of CNI cross-market indexes by including ChiNext Board securities that have been listed for over a year into the index constituent pool for selection while keeping other rules unchanged.
The revision is applicable to CNI cross-market indexes that have included securities from the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and SZSE, and will be implemented in two steps. Step One, product underlying indexes will be revised in June 2022 while constituents of indexes being periodically adjusted. Step Two, non-product underlying indexes will be revised in December 2022 while constituents being periodically adjusted.
As one of the important index compilers in China, SSIC, based on CNI series indexes, is committed to building a characteristic cross-market index system and contributing to the establishment of a more diversified index product structure in China. As at the end of March 2022, CNI SSE and SZSE cross-market indexes have developed 67 index funds, with a total product volume of CNY 69.6 billion, which have been highly recognized by the market.
The ChiNext Board has stably operated for over two years. It has seen a continuous rise in the number and market value of listed companies, as well as the emergence of a fleet of representative enterprises in the technological innovation field. It has become an important part of the Chinese capital market. Adding ChiNext Board securities into the index constituent pool for selection will make indexes more representative and the compilation more scientific. It will also help enrich ChiNext Board index investment instruments and guide more medium- and long-term funds to flow into quality companies listed on the ChiNext Board.
