On the morning of December 18, 2018, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the conference on celebrating the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up. The Party Committee of the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) organized all the staff to watch the live broadcast, after which the SSE Party Committee's leadership promptly studied the speech.
Everyone held that General Secretary Xi had summed up the great achievements and valuable experience with his review of the 40-year brilliant course of reform and opening-up, and made an array of strategic plans on unswervingly propelling the reform in an all-round way and expanding the opening-up. Characterized by great foresight, profound thoughts and rich connotation, the speech is a remarkable guiding document of Marxism as well as a renewed declaration and mobilization order for further reform and opening-up in the new era, which will greatly strengthen the resolve and confidence of over 1.3 billion Chinese people to carry the reform and opening-up forward.
The SSE Party Committee said that all SSE staff should earnestly study and implement the requirements in the speech given by General Secretary Xi throughout their work.
To achieve a noble goal, actions matter more than words. On the occasion of the 28th anniversary of its founding, the SSE will take it as a major political task to study and implement the requirements in the speech, strengthen its awareness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, uphold the leadership core, and keep in alignment, raise its confidence in the socialist path, theories, system and culture with Chinese characteristics, and firmly safeguard the core position of General Secretary Xi in the CPC Central Committee and the Party as a whole, and resolutely safeguard the centralized and unified leadership and authority of the CPC Central Committee. The speech should be translated into a tremendous passion to work on great cause. With a sense of urgency and a sense of duty, we should fully implement the instructions of General Secretary Xi on establishing the sci-tech innovation board and piloting the registration system in the SSE. Under the unified deployment of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, we will undertake the major reform of setting up the sci-tech innovation board and piloting the registration system efficiently and steadily, therefore show the world the new strength and image of the reform and opening-up of Chinese capital market in the new era.
