SGX-MAS Research Scheme Receives Strong Response - 115 Listed Companies And Nine Research Firms To Participate

Date 05/11/2003

Singapore Exchange Ltd (SGX) today announced the list of SGX-listed companies and research firms who are participating in the SGX-MAS Research Incentive Scheme.

A total of 115 listed companies have signed up and nine research firms have been approved to participate in the scheme. The scheme, which is funded from the S$7.5 million pool of funds jointly established by SGX and MAS, aims to enhance research coverage of stocks listed on SGX.

Mr Gan Seow Ann, EVP and Head of Markets at SGX said, "We are very encouraged by the strong response and the range of companies who will be participating. The scheme will help raise the profiles of our listed companies and enhance the attractiveness of SGX as a listing venue. In addition, investors will benefit from having access to more information to facilitate their investment decisions."

SGX will be circulating the list of participating listed companies to the nine research firms who will then submit their preference and exclusion lists within 2 weeks. The allocation of the listed companies will be completed by end November, after which research coverage on these companies will commence. Research firms will be given up to 5 months to initiate coverage on their list of allocated companies.
