SGX SIMSCI Futures Break Records And Asian Derivatives Register Strong Growth In May 2004

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today announced that the MSCI Singapore Stock Index futures contract broke its record in open interest, daily, monthly and average monthly volumes in May 2004.

Some of SGX's major Asian derivatives products contracts on SGX also enjoyed strong growth during the first five months of 2004. Compared to the same period last year, growth rates ranging from 28% to 100% were registered by SGX's the Nikkei 225 futures, MSCI Taiwan Index futures, Euroyen futures and MSCI Singapore Index futures.
