- Mirae Asset Securities to list 10 new USD-denominated DLCs designed to offer investors wider investment options
SGX Securities is pleased to welcome Mirae Asset Securities (HK) Limited, part of the Mirae Asset Group, a global financial group consisting of asset management, investment banking and life insurance, as its new Daily Leverage Certificates (DLCs) issuer, offering investors greater options to hedge and capture investment opportunities.
Mirae Asset Securities is listing 10 new DLCs, comprising five pairs of Long and Short USD-denominated DLCs tracking the Nasdaq-100, S&P 500, Hang Seng Index, Hang Seng Technology Index and Hang Seng China Enterprises Index. These are the first set of DLCs listed on SGX to be offered in US dollars. They will offer a leveraged return of up to 3x[1], an expansion of SGX’s existing DLC product shelf to cater to different risk appetites. DLCs with U.S. equities as underlying were first introduced in March 2022 to help investors diversify and expand exposure into new markets.
Michael Syn, Senior Managing Director and Head of Equities, SGX Group, said, “In an increasingly volatile market environment, investors have veered towards structured products such as DLCs to diversify their portfolios and achieve higher yields. We are delighted to welcome Mirae Asset Securities as our newest DLC issuer as they continue to build on their strengths to better serve market participants.”
Jungho Rhee, President and CEO, Mirae Asset Securities (HK) Limited, said, “As a global financial group, Mirae Asset strives to be a permanent innovator in identifying opportunities and delivering innovative investment solutions to investors. Our new DLC listing is a part of this strategy to diversify access to new solutions and platforms for our clients. We believe DLCs can provide investors with a convenient and capital efficient way of investing in equity markets globally. We are thrilled to be launching new tickers as the first step in this exciting market.”
SGX was the first in Asia to offer DLCs for trading in 2017 and since its launch, more than 650 DLCs have been listed and traded on the platform. In 2022, DLCs on SGX achieved a record turnover of S$4.75 billion, with a record of more than 300 new DLC listings in the same year.
