- Collaborate to Compete” special category to underscore importance of partnerships in driving success in Asian financial markets
- 5th annual edition of Awards part of SGX Group’s efforts to foster financial education and empower investors
Singapore Exchange (SGX Group) today launched the fifth edition of its annual SGX Orb Awards to recognise excellence in financial journalism and content. For this year’s special category, content producers are invited to share their stories on how collaboration, partnerships and an ecosystem mindset is driving success in Asian markets and shaping Singapore’s role as an international financial centre.
World financial markets are rapidly evolving as new and emerging technology brings both disruption and opportunity across multiple asset classes. Market participants are increasingly finding value in working together – often with the new entrants – to build scale, expand their global reach and raise their service offering.
Launched in 2018, the SGX Orb Awards welcomes published work from the print and broadcast media, online news sites backed by publishing or editorial companies, as well as independent writers such as bloggers or investment websites. Each year, the awards attract submissions from local and international content producers that include written pieces, audio-visual work and illustrations.
Judging will be conducted by a distinguished independent panel. Members of the public can nominate and vote for their preferred entries among shortlisted contenders, and the winners in five categories will be unveiled in October 2022. Appendix: SGX Orb Awards – Award Categories
- Story of the Year
We are seeking a news story, feature or opinion piece that best offers insights into investing in the securities or derivatives markets. Which innovations have driven the development of asset classes or opportunities for retail and institutional investors? How has technology transformed risk management, or reinforced trust and efficiency? The winner of this category will demonstrate the ability to uncover a fresh angle and capture what is important for market participants to know.
- Special Category: Collaborate to Compete
For this year’s special category, we are seeking both original and published work on the collaborative advantage uncovered by financial institutions and market participants as they approach business with an ecosystem mindset, working together with competitors to build scale. How has Singapore as an international financial centre played a part in their success?
- The Hidden Gem
This award seeks to honour the best feature or analysis of an under-covered stock listed on SGX Securities, either on Mainboard or Catalist. The challenge will be to uncover a fresh angle that investors or analysts may have missed. If you have a knack for turning complex concepts into clear and precise storytelling, we want to hear from you.
- The Visual Treat
This popular category is for all things creative and experiential – for example, a broadcast segment for TV, a homemade video, podcast or illustrations that probe deep into the workings of a financial or commodity asset class. The winner will deliver a compelling story while offering viewers an experience to remember.
- GoTo.com
We aim to enhance financial education, and the award for this category will go to the best digital platform – whether it is an online news aggregator, financial blogger or independent website that most empowers investors to make educated decisions with their money. If your work stands out from the pack for all the right reasons, you can be a winner.
