SGX Derivatives Contracts Break Records

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today announced that its derivatives market achieved four new records on 26 July 2001. The MSCI Taiwan futures contracts had a new daily trading volume record, the 5-year Singapore Government Bond Futures contract achieved a daily trading volume and open interest record, while the 3-month Singapore Dollar Interest Rate futures achieved a new open interest record. These are as shown below.

  • S'pore Dlr Interest Rate, Open Int, New Record (No. of contracts): 6,121, 26 Jul 2001, Previous Record (No. of contracts): 6,074, 10 Nov 2000
The 5-year Singapore Government Bond futures contract has enjoyed a steady growth since it was launched on 29 June, with 14 market makers providing 2-way quotes.
