SGX Derivatives Break Records For Year-To-Date Volume And Nikkei, SiMSCI & MSCI Taiwan Contracts

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today announced that the total derivatives trading volume reached an all-time high for any January-September period, with 27,324,840 contracts traded. This is an increase of 7.2%, compared with 25,506,529 contracts traded over the same period last year.

The month of September also saw new records set by various products including the Nikkei 225 and SiMSCI futures contracts. In particular, MSCI Taiwan options broke its open interest record 6 consecutive times within the month (see table below) :-
