SGX Derivatives Break Monthly Total And Other Records; Year-To-Date Volume Grows 11%

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today announced that the total derivatives trading volume in July 2002 increased 67.5%, reaching 3,611,883 contracts, as compared to 2,155,944 contracts traded in the same month last year. July 2002's trading volume was also an all-time monthly record, surpassing the previous record of 3,372,838 set in November 2001.

The month of July also saw new records set by Eurodollar, MSCI Taiwan and MSCI Singapore Stock Indexes and the Single Stock futures (as shown in the table below) :-
