More than 100 participants attended the seminar held at the SGX Auditorium on 27 April 2005, of which half are members of CEA.
"We received requests from directors and managers to conduct this seminar in Mandarin, to enhance their understanding of our regulatory requirements and to help them adopt sound corporate governance practices. I'm happy to see that CEA is very keen to promote such awareness among its members," said Mr Hsieh Fu Hua, Chief Executive Officer of SGX, who kicked off the first of its series of Mandarin seminars.
SGX is planning another two similar corporate governance seminars in Beijing and Shenzhen on 31 May and 2 June respectively.
Three speakers from SID spoke to the audience on the duties and responsibilities of directors; governance, risk management and compliance, and SGX's regulations and the law. Details on the seminar programme are in the attached.
